My first go at the 30 minute challenge using my Schminke palette.
One thing I’ll say is it came out bold and bright!

A lovely impression of the photo, nicely done how the flowers merge together!

Lovely painting, Loo. The wooden planks are great. Remember to add shadow to parts that are in shade–like the wood on the right side of the pot and under the hanging flowers. I see some shadow but you could go a little darker.
As far as the brightness of the color–when you want to tone it down, try mixing a complementary color. For the pot, you could add a bit of cad or alizarin red. A bit of burnt sienna in the leaves if you want. Nice work, though!

Thanks Judy. I tend to panic a bit when it comes to mixing for shadows! Never know quite what to do for the best and end up going for the neutral tint as a safe option.

I’m absolute rubbish at shadows. Have watched loads and loads of videos/how-to’s, but for some reason I have a mental block, so understand what you mean!

Lovely loose flowers and the wood grain is very good too.

This is just beautiful, Loo. The woodgrain is very well done and the flowers are nice and bright. Awesome! I love it!
